UAM is offering its first international summer school in Beijing from July 25-August 8, 2010. It will be hosted at their partner university (Beijing Normal University) through the School of Economics and Business Administration. A team of 4 UAM professors will participate, teaching courses that bridge the gap between creativity and innovation from a number of interdisciplinary perspectives. An additional professor from LMU will also participate (from the Psychology of Excellence program).

UAM launches its first degree program offered completely in English Intercultural & International Management (BA in Business Administration)

Starting in October 2010, UAM offers students the chance to study in English. The new program, Intercultural & International Management provides the optimal combination of in-depth business and management exertise with intercultural and international competence.

Marisa Koch wins prestigious award while studying abroad at Thompson Rivers University (TRU), in Kamloops, Canada.
After making the Women’s Volleyball team during her first semester abroad at TRU, Marisa Koch extended her exchange for an additional semester so that she could complete the full season with the team. She not only proved her athletic skills on the court, but also her excellent academic abilities – a great accomplishment considering the intensive training and games schedule (across western Canada) and a full academic work-load.

FHAM Students go to Eastern Canada for a semester abroad
(Winter Semester 2009) Tobias Mittermaier and Nicolas Menke will be the first FHAM students to participate in the new student exchange program with the University of New Brunswick (UNB). From September to December 2009, Tobias and Nicolas will be studying in Fredericton, New Brunswick in Eastern Canada taking selected courses from Sport programs in the Faculty of Kinesiology.

Marisa Koch returns after playing for the full season 2008/2009
(May 2009) Marisa Koch (6th semester, Business) returned from Thompson Rivers University in May 2009 after having spent two semesters abroad in an academic exchange program. The highlight of her time at TRU was making the women’s volleyball team and playing the full season.

The internationally renowned expert in educational science, Prof. Dr. R. Tippelt from the Institute of Educational Science and Research at LMU Munich, visited UAM on April 10, 2006, as a guest speaker on “Trends in Education and Training”. The lecture was well received by both students and teachers. Some of the topics he addressed focused on life-long learning, target-group orientation, as well as environment and professionalization in the field of adult education. Interesting discussions followed on various aspects, such as the European Education Passport, learning regions, educational marketing and differentiated educational programs.




A one day glimpse into the behind-the-scene preparation of Nina Ruge's live talk-show "Leute Heute" from ZDF TV-channel – this unique opportunity was open to select University of Applied Management students in the "premium seminar" on Media Management offered by their professor Dr. Claudius Schikora.
